Potato Survival Store
Overview
The Potato Survival store is a fully custom storefront built to make purchasing feel like part of the server instead of sending players through a generic hosted shop. Tebex still handles the commerce and secure checkout flow, while the entire player-facing experience is custom designed and developed around the Potato brand.
What I worked on
I designed and developed the complete storefront across both the frontend and backend. That includes the responsive interface, server-side API routes, Minecraft account validation, live Tebex product data, cart and gifting operations, basket synchronization, checkout handoff, server information, recent purchases, legal pages, and customer-safe error states for failed external requests.
The problem
The main challenge was keeping the store simple while several external and local states work together behind it. A player change must not leave the wrong basket active, quantity and gifting updates must stay synchronized with Tebex, invalid account data must be rejected before checkout, and API failures need to produce useful messages without exposing internal details.
Systems I built
- A responsive custom storefront built around the Potato visual identity
- Live Tebex package catalog with pricing, discounts, and product details
- Server-side API routes for player lookup, products, basket operations, and checkout
- Minecraft account validation and purchase targeting
- Synchronized basket state for account changes, quantities, and gifts
- Customer-safe validation, loading states, and external API error handling
- Live server status, recent purchases, and server information
- Mobile navigation, purchase guidance, and legal pages
